Buick is a United States automotive company which is a division of General Motors Founded by David Dunbar Buick, United States porcelain businessman, who known as porcelain brushing method and introducing a white bath tub in the world. In 1899 he sold his business and run a gasoline engine business, as the embryo of the Buick Manufacturing Company.
In 1903, David Buick had developed a valve-in head engine that was produced in 1904. In 2 months, 16 Buick booked but the company experienced financial problems that distract investors on Cranpo William Durant, owner of the Durant-Dort Carriage Company.
Initially, Durant was not interested in business horseless carriage (freight trains without horses) but agreed to try the plan Buick few weeks. His business was a huge success and within a year he was the Buick Motor Company capital increase even buy a Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Chevrolet (the forerunner of General Motors), and makes Buick valve-in-head engine. Series 40 to be special in 1938 became the Super 50 series and the series 60 to Century (named after a top speed of 100 mph) and series 90 to Limited and all of them use the 8-cylinder engine. In 1936 the engine was changed to 320 CI until the year 1953 (including Car History of Presidential Affairs, Buick Limited-8 who used President Sukarno). Super Series was later renamed the Roadster. With this change, the series became hotseller Century. Mechanical power is then changed to 120 hp in 1936 to 165 hp in 1941. These changes make the Century a leader in its class until production was stopped during World War II.
