Alfa Romeo is an Italian car company. The company was founded in 1910. Its headquarters are in Turin, Italia. Initially, the company was known as ALFA, Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica abbreviation of Automobili. This company is a division of Fiat, joining with Fiat since 1986.
A company that became the forerunner of today’s Alfa Romeo was founded with the name of Societa Anonima Italiana Darracq (SAID) in 1906 by a Frenchman named Alexandre Darracq, along with several investors from Italy. In 1909, Darracq cars in Italy is slowly and then sold the new company named ALFA (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili. The company is still cooperating with Darracq. The first car is not made Darracq manufactured by this company is a 24 HP in 1910, designed by Giuseppe Merosi. ALFA then entered the Targa Florio race car in 1911 with 24 HP .
